Steve Oden, Jr. | Principal

Mr. Oden co-founded Oden Hughes and oversees all development. He also manages investor relations and operations.

Mr. Oden Jr. co-founded Oden Hughes in 2010 and oversees all development as well as operations and investor relations. In commercial real estate for 18 years, Mr. Oden has nearly two decades of experience in multifamily development and renovation. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Mr. Oden is a member of the Real Estate Council of Austin, the Urban Land Institute and the National Multi Housing Association. Mr. Oden also serves on the advisory board of the State Bank of DeKalb.

Craig S. Hughes | Principal

Mr. Hughes co-founded Oden Hughes and shares responsibility for overseeing development, operations and investor relations with Mr. Oden.

Mr. Hughes co-founded Oden Hughes in 2010 and oversees development, operations and investor relations with Mr. Oden. In commercial real estate for 25 years, Mr. Hughes has extensive experience in contract negotiations and partnership structuring, and has managed the acquisition, entitlement and pre-development activities for multiple land investment partnerships. Mr. Hughes graduated from Baylor University and is a member of the Real Estate Council of Austin, the Urban Land Institute and the National Multi Housing Council.

Mr. Taylor oversees all in-house and third-party construction and is a co-founder of the Oden Hughes construction division.

Mr. Taylor oversees all in-house and third party construction as president of the construction division at Oden Hughes. In the construction industry since 1993, Mr. Taylor joined Oden Hughes in 2011. He previously served as Vice President at Austin-based Brown-Taylor Contractors LP. Prior to that Mr. Taylor was Project Manager at Trammell Crow Residential for 10 years where he worked on over 4,500 multifamily units throughout Austin and San Antonio. He is a graduate of Texas Tech University.

Ms. Park oversees all in-house and third party property management services.She joined Oden Hughes in 2014 and previously served as Regional Vice President at Riverstone Residential Group.Ms. Park has more than 25 years of experience in the multifamily industry and has supervised properties in Texas, Arizona and Louisiana. She is a licensed Texas Real Estate Salesman and Texas Real Estate Broker. She plays an active role in the Austin Apartment Association and currently serves on the Executive Committee as Vice President Elect.

Mr. McElwrath oversees development, and has worked on more than 7,750 multifamily units over the course of his career. He joined Oden Hughes in 2010 after nearly three years as Development Associate of multifamily at Simmons Vedder Partners.  Mr. McElwrath graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BBA in Finance. He is a member of ULI, Real Estate Council of Austin, and serves on the Board of Directors for KIPP Austin Public Schools.

Mr. Beaver oversees development primarily in the Austin and Dallas/Fort Worth markets. Prior to joining Oden Hughes in 2013, he was a commercial appraiser in Atlanta and worked in asset management at Urban American Management in New York City.A two-time graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Mr. Beaver earned a B.A. in history and a MBA from the McCombs School of Business.  He is a member of the Real Estate Council of Austin and serves as the Chairman of the Legacy Council for the Darrell K Royal Research Fund for Alzheimer's Disease.

Prior to joining Oden Hughes, he was a real estate manager and fellow at SAI Properties in New York where he sourced and managed financing, acquisition and development opportunities. Mr. Shaughnessy earned a master’s degree in real estate from Cornell University and holds a dual B.A. degree in Economics and Urban Planning from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a fellow and Young Leader with the Urban Land Institute and a member of its Multifamily Council.

Mrs. Moss manages all aspects of property operations and technical support for Oden Hughes Management with expertise and focus in Revenue Management, software integrations, and training.  She joined Oden Hughes in 2017 with 26 years of property management experience. Although, most recently she has been focused in the revenue management arena using YieldStar, she also lends multiple years of valuable experience as a Regional Manager working with both owner-managed as well as fee-managed clients and is passionate about maintaining and further developing these relationships.

Mr. Murphy oversees all onsite property managers and develops marketing plans and strategies for communities in the Austin area. He joined Oden Hughes Management in 2014 after first leasing and then managing assets in Austin, San Antonio and Dallas for Riverstone Residential Group for seven years. Mr. Murphy has experience with all aspects of conventional properties which include lease-ups, acquisitions, renovations/repositions and dispositions and due diligence.  He is active with the Austin Apartment Association and has CAM designations with the National Apartment Association (NAA).  Josh attended UT San Antonio and is a graduate of the AAA Leadership Lyceum program.

Mr. Claverie contributes to development projects in the Houston and San Antonio markets.  Originally from Guatemala, he co-founded architecture firm Etera in Guatemala City where he was responsible for business development, architectural design and project management. Mr. Claverie earned a Master in Land and Property Development degree from Texas A&M University and holds a Licentiate Degree in Architecture from the Universidad Francisco Marroquín.

Mr. Gavia supports the Oden Hughes development team through the research of the firm's target markets as well as capital markets. He also supports the marketing efforts of Oden Hughes.  Prior to joining the company in 2017, Mr. Gavia worked at Ascendant Capital underwriting new real estate investment opportunities and assisting with portfolio management and capital raising efforts.  He also worked in asset management for Equity Inc. and Virtus Real Estate Capital.  Mr. Gavia received a BBA in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin. He is a member of ULI and a licensed Real Estate Agent in Texas.
